Our giant ocean ballerinas are FINALLY starting to make their way back to Maui, just in time for the 2022 holidays! From December - mid April, more than half of the North Pacific Humpback Whale population (~13,500) travels to the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary. These 45 foot creatures travel the 3,000 mile journey from Northern Pacific waters and Alaska to Maui to take advantage of Maui County's warm waters, not just for vacation, but also for a cozy place mate and reproduce. This Sanctuary just so happens to be located in the same place our sailboat, Kainani, is moored! What better way to experience Humpback Whales than in their own environment, on the water! Gear up for a vacation to remember by adding on another hour to your sail, in hopes of spending more time with these mysterious creatures. We can't wait to share more whaley interesting facts with you this year aboard your sail!
